How should ABN tradies claim mixed-use expenses?
Yes, but only the business-use portion. The key is a reasonable method, records, and avoiding double counting across categories.

Phone and internet
Use bills and a representative period to estimate business calls, job apps, client messages, quoting, maps and bookkeeping use.
Laptop and office gear
Claim the business-use portion for quotes, invoices, plans, emails, ordering materials, accounting and cloud storage.
Vehicle costs
Separate genuine business trips from private driving and normal commuting. Use one vehicle method for the same car, not both.
One cost, one place
If a cost is already included in fixed-rate home office, cents-per-km, or another field, do not enter it again as a separate ABN expense.
Where to enter it in TradieCalc
Enter only the business-use portion in ABN Business Expenses. Keep private-use notes with your tax records.
