Common deductions to check

  • Mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, hand tools, fuel containers, blades, batteries, and repairs used for work.
  • Boots, gloves, hats, sunscreen, eye protection, hearing protection, wet weather gear, and hi-vis where required.
  • Materials, plants, mulch, subcontractors, equipment hire, insurance, and accounting fees for ABN contractors.
  • Vehicle, trailer, parking, tolls, and travel between client sites.

Common mistakes

  • Claiming all vehicle costs without records.
  • Claiming household gardening equipment used privately.
  • Not recording small replacement parts and consumables.
